Natalie White: The Bleach Paintings

During lockdown, the artist-activist lacked traditional art supplies and started impulsively painting with bleach on her bedsheets, resulting in an almost year-long immersion of bleach as a medium. She found herself hand-ripping elastic seams from her sheets, duct-taping them to a glass door, and spending hours painting tiny lines repeatedly onto the fabric—an intensely cathartic process that resonates with the lived experience of this past year.
